A freshman architect of an epic Massachusetts comeback leads the latest Team of the Week.

The Minutemen played just once over seven days, yet it was enough for Monica Curry to make her mark. Down 3-0 to Harvard at halftime, all looked lost for Massachusetts. Then the New Jersey native flipped the game on its head, providing an assist and scoring twice, including an 86th-minute game-winner, to complete a legendary comeback.

Women’s Team of the Week: August 24-30

GK Ella Holland, Eastern Michigan - Holland delivered a top-class seven-save performance in a historic 0-0 draw with No. 4 Michigan State, then followed with another clean sheet to tie Robert Morris.

D Evelyn Mackay, Memphis - The Canadian defender helped the Tigers get back on track, scoring one and assisting another to defeat Mississippi 3-1.

D Sierra Sythe, Wake Forest - Continuing her stellar junior campaign, Sythe scored one and assisted the other, while marshaling the backline to a 2-0 shutout of Portland.

D Eva Sprewell, Stony Brook - The junior defender hardly put a foot wrong versus Penn, playing all 90 minutes and adding an assist in a 2-0 shutout.

M Monica Curry, Massachusetts - Curry scored twice and assisted another to overturn a 3-0 halftime deficit to Harvard.

M U'I Kaaihue, Seattle - Kaaihue was at full force this week, compiling two goals and three assists across victories over Nevada and Gonzaga. 

M Sophia Rubano, Grand Canyon - Starting with a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over CSUN, then scoring in a 1-1 draw with UC Irvin, Rubano had an impactful week for the Lopes.

M Ellie Felt, Oregon - Felt fueled a rivalry dismantling of Oregon State, scoring twice in a 6-0 shutout.

F Jade Bordeleau, NC State - Continuing her scorching start to the campaign, Bordeleau scored in a 3-0 victory over High Point, then ended the week with a hat trick and an assist to defeat Davidson 6-1.

F Avrie Nelsen, Villanova - Villanova was on fire this week, and the sophomore star led the way, first defeating Columbia 2-0, then scoring a hat trick in the 11-0 rout of previously undefeated Iona University.

F Hailey Santiago, Florida Atlantic - Bagging a hat trick plus an assist in the 7-0 defeat of Howard, then scoring a second-half equalizer to draw Florida 1-1, Santiago was everything Florida Atlantic needed.
